Happy Friday, Columbus —

By late March, the calendar starts filling up with bunnies, baskets, and egg hunts. We’ve got a little of that this week, but not only that.

There’s a colorful spring festival, a Minecraft dance party that would absolutely get a yes in my house, one creative comics expo, and one Easter event that also makes for a pretty great day trip.

Also, thank you for reading and forwarding this along. More and more Columbus families are finding their way here each week, which has been really fun to see.

Pick one thing. That’s enough.

If You Only Do One Thing This Weekend

Rang De Columbus Holi Color Fest 2026
Saturday, March 28 | 12–5 PM
Land-Grant Brewing Company | Franklinton
Tickets start at $10, kids under 3 free
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/rang-de-columbus-holi-color-fest-2026-tickets-1981910932952

Holi celebrates spring, color, and the triumph of good over evil. If you want one event this weekend that feels festive, joyful, and genuinely different from the usual Easter circuit, this is probably it.

Happening This Weekend

Worthington Bunny Hop
Friday, March 27 | 6–8 PM
Worthington Community Center | Worthington
Free
https://www.worthington.org/Calendar.aspx?EID=9326

Worthington usually does these events well, and this one looks like a very solid Easter outing with dancing, crafts, bunny photos, and live bunnies.

Hilliard Bunny Hop
Saturday, March 28 | 9–11 AM
Downtown Hilliard | Hilliard
Free
https://www.destinationhilliard.org/event/destination-hilliard-bunny-hop-2026

A simple, well-done Easter event with candy and trinkets from local businesses, a stop at Hilliard’s Station Park, and a visit with the Easter Bunny.

SPACE (Small Press & Alternative Comics Expo) 2026
Saturday, March 28 | 10 AM–5 PM
The Makoy | Hilliard
Free
https://www.columbusmakesart.com/event/72737-space-small-press-alternative-comics-expo-2026

A good pick for kids who love drawing, comics, graphic novels, or making up their own characters. There should be plenty here to keep creative kids interested.

Wetlands Hike
Saturday, March 28 | 10–11 AM
Slate Run Metro Park Wetlands | Canal Winchester
Free
https://www.metroparks.net/event/wetlands-hike-2/

This is the outdoorsy option this week. Easy enough for younger kids, and a nice excuse to get everybody outside for an hour.

Bunny Trail
Saturday, March 28 | 10 AM–3 PM
National Museum of the United States Air Force | Dayton
Free
https://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/Upcoming/Events/

This one is worth the drive. You get the usual Easter fun, plus a chance to explore one of the coolest museums within an hour of Columbus, with Air Force One aircrafts, space exhibits, and plenty to see after the Bunny Trail wraps up.

KID RAVE 7: Chicken Jockey Edition
Sunday, March 29 | 1–5 PM
Skully’s Music-Diner | Columbus
$12.50
https://shortnorth.org/events/kid-rave-7-chicken-jockey-edition/

A Minecraft-themed dance party with DJs, crafts, face painting, and vendors. For kids who would rather talk about creepers than egg hunts, this one should be a hit.

Easy Wins

Need an Easter event that doesn’t take much planning? Worthington on Friday and Hilliard on Saturday are both easy picks.

Need fresh air? Wetlands Hike is your best bet this week.

Need a bigger outing? The Air Force Museum Bunny Trail is a very good excuse for a family day trip.

Featured spot this week: Ray Ray’s Hog Pit pairs pretty nicely with the Holi festival since it’s right there at Land-Grant. One less stop to think about, which honestly counts for a lot by Saturday afternoon.

That’s it.

You do not need to pack the whole weekend. One good outing is plenty.

If you end up trying one of these, hit reply and let me know. I always like hearing what was actually worth it for readers. It helps me know what’s landing and what to keep looking for.

I’m also starting to connect with a few local businesses and organizations for upcoming issues, so if you’d like to partner or know someone who might be a good fit, I’d love to hear from you.
